Services available at the surgery include;

Heart, Stroke, Asthma and COPD Clinics:

By appointment with Practice Nurses.

Diabetic Clinic:

By appointment with Dr K Adams and Practice nurse Hazel Hilland.

Midwife Clinic:

Appointments organised by Midwives at Lagan Valley Hospital, Lisburn.

Warfarin and Specialist Medication Monitoring:

Available by appointment with Practice Nurses.

Vaccination & Child Health Screening:

Thursday morning (health visitor & doctor)

Influenza Vaccination:

Can be arranged via reception

Cervical Smears: 

Available by appointment with Practice Nurses or a GP.

Family Planning Advice:

By appointment with doctor.  This includes contraceptive advice and prescribing.  Dr McCandless offers insertion of coils and implants.

Minor Surgery:

Following assessment by doctor.  This includes joint injections, removal of cysts where appropriate.

Private Fees and Special Medical Examinations

A fee will be charged for non-NHS medical certificates and certain examinations (e.g. insurance claims, employments medicals, driving licenses, travel insurance forms).

For a comprehensive list of charges please speak to a member of the reception team.

Please advise Reception staff if you are booking an appointment for a medical examination for any private service as they are not a routine appointment.

Please note demand for letters, reports and other non-contractual work has increased recently.  Due to the extra pressure this puts on the administration and clinical staff the practice will be more consistent with applying a charge for this service.  Letters will start from £15 but the charge will depend on the work and time involved.  This will not affect Subject Access Requests which are free under GDPR.  *a charge for these SAR's will be applied if duplicate or excessive requests*.

School Examinations

The practice does not provide letters in support of an application of special circumstances for examinations.  National guidance advocates that as long as the school/college supports the application for special circumstance that this is sufficient evidence.
