APPOINTMENTS

We provide a daily telephone triage service with routine calls logged from 8.30am each day. We can only accommodate a limited number of routine requests each day.  Urgent calls will be given priority and allocated to a member of the clinical team.

A limited number of routine calls will be booked in advance by reception staff.

All face to face appointments are booked after a telephone call triage with a GP.

The GPs have directed reception staff to ask all patients for an overview of their medical problem to help effective triage and determine the best course of action to help them.

Dr McCandless, Dr Adams & Dr Haydock are personally available at surgeries.  The Practice employ Locum GP's to assist with additional cover from time to time.

The Practice is currently using an NHS digital approved video consultation system (Accurx) to carry out some consultations via your mobile phone. In the video consultation, the healthcare professional will record the observations and outcome of the consultation in the same way as face-to-face consultation is recorded in the patient's electronic primary care record and any agreed actions are carried out.

Patients are registered with the Practice rather than an individual doctor.

Please help us to help you. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer it to another patient.

We would like to remind everyone that we have a zero tolerance policy regarding any threatening or abusive behaviour towards our staff.

Reception Staff

Why does the receptionist need to ask what’s wrong? The reception staff are members of the practice team and it has been agreed they should ask patients ‘why they need to be seen’.
